A Parent’s POV: The Impact of Weekly Classes

One of the greatest joys of what we do is welcoming families into our studios and growing with them over the years. Many families will join in for classes with their first child when they are little (1–4yrs in our Mini Makers classes). Before we know it, we’re meeting their second, third, even fourth kiddo in that class while their other kids grow into our more advanced classes. We feel honored to have such an impactful role in their childhood. With Session Classes, which are the classes that a student attends once a week throughout the year, the kids in the class form a special bond amongst themselves and with the teacher. While these classes quite honestly are not money makers, they ARE memory makers and the foundation of why we do what we do. Our consistent classes are a place where kids can truly imagine, explore, and create while building social skills and making friends, and we, as the teachers, get to build lasting relationships with them and their families.

A testament to the impact of these classes is provided by a longtime client, Erica Kyle. For her, Little Art House has been part of her family’s life for nearly a decade. What began as weekly classes with her oldest daughter has grown into a meaningful ritual for all three of her children, shaping birthdays, after-school activities, and countless creative milestones. The family keeps returning not just for the art but for the environment her children feel grounded in. The small, calm classes allow her children to form meaningful connections with the teachers. The teachers, Erica says, are at the heart of it all. They’re gentle, patient, and always welcoming. As her oldest daughter has grown, the studio’s offerings have grown with her. Sewing, knitting, beadmaking, and bracelet design have all given her new ways to explore creativity in a place she already feels connected to.

“She (Erica’s daughter) feels comfortable because she knows the teachers, and the environment is a safe, familiar space for her to try new things and expand her skillset,” Erica shares.

Eight years after their first class, Little Art House has become more than a studio for the Kyle family. It’s a familiar creative space, a weekly touchpoint, and a place where each daughter’s artistic journey continues.

We are a couple weeks into Session II, our last set of weekly classes for 2026, and we are loving our time with these sweet students, both new and old. While some classes, like our Acrylic Painting and Sewing classes, do not allow kids to join in once the session begins, many of our classes do allow kids to jump in whenever, or even attend single classes if attending every week doesn’t work for your schedule.

If you’ve considered adding a weekly art class to your kid’s routine, Session Classes are here for you!

We’d love to meet you and welcome you to the Little Art House family!
